Manzur Qader boasts a wealth of experience across various roles in defence services and civil administration. He retired from active duty in 2009 as a Brigadier General. His extensive career encompasses positions of command, staff, and instructional roles. He has received academic and defence training from prestigious institutions at home and abroad. Internationally, Manzur Qader served as the Deputy Chief of Operations in the UN Mission for Western Sahara (MINURSO) and as the Defense Advisor at the High Commission of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh in Pakistan with concurrent accreditation to Iran and Afghanistan. Prior to his retirement, he served as the Logistics Area Commander of the Bangladesh Army. Post-retirement, leveraging his background and extensive service experience, Manzur Qader has emerged as an accomplished figure in the civil society of Bangladesh and actively contributes to the country’s socio-economic development. Manzur Qader plays a pivotal role in various capacities, showcasing his commitment to social causes and community welfare. Serving as the Advisor for the Arakan Rohingya Union (ARU), he advocates for the safe and dignified return of the displaced Rohingya community members to their homeland. In addition to his advocacy work, Manzur Qader is the Senior Vice President at the Bangladesh-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce, contributing to enhancing trade relations between the two countries. He actively engages in advisory roles for several not-for-profit organizations, demonstrating a diverse range of interests. These include the ASP Foundation, which focuses on healthcare, education and climate resilience. Additionally, Manzur Qader contributes his expertise to the Bangladesh Ex-Soldiers Association, dedicated to the welfare of veterans, ensuring their well-being and support after their military service. Lastly, he is involved with the Bangladesh Heritage Crafts Foundation, an organization committed to promoting the rich cultural heritage of Bangladesh. In addition to his social contributions, Manzur Qader is an avid golfer, holding the position of Vice President at the Tiger’s Golf Club Bangladesh. He actively promotes the sport of golf in Bangladesh. Manzur Qader’s educational background includes a Master of War Studies from the Bangladesh University of Professionals, an Army War Course from the National Defence College, Bangladesh, and a Bachelor of Social Studies from the National University of Bangladesh. Furthermore, he has received specialized training in Civil-Military Responses to Terrorism from the Center of Excellence Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance in Monterey, California, USA.

Rohima Akter Khushi
Rohima Akter Khushi is a committed advocate for human rights and social justice, with a particular focus on the rights and educational empowerment of girls and women among the Rohingya refugee community. Boasting more than five years of humanitarian experience, she has collaborated with numerous institutions and international NGOs, including entities affiliated with the United Nations, to conduct both qualitative and quantitative research, as well as training and documentation initiatives in humanitarian contexts. Having lived her entire life as a refugee in Bangladesh, she has now been resettled in Canada.

Jimran Mohammad Saiak

Jimran Mohammad Saiak
Jimran Mohammad Saiak, a passionate 21-year-old activist and civil engineer from Bangladesh, is deeply committed to advancing climate, environmental, and social causes. He serves as the Coordinator for communication and network development at YouthNet, fostering collaboration among youth activists across 45 districts to amplify their impact nationwide. Additionally, Jimran is a Master Facilitator at YouthNet, where he trains and mobilizes numerous young individuals on climate action. In addressing social issues, Jimran serves as an ambassador for the ‘Ák Takay Sikkha’ foundation and founded the Magic Board School in 2023, providing quality education for underprivileged children while integrating climate education into the curriculum. His dedication has earned him recognition, including being honored as a Peach builder at SURGE Bangladesh and securing the 2nd Runner-up position at the Youth Climate Hackathon 2021. He has also been a finalist in programs like the Youth Connect Youth Program at Activista Bangladesh and the Digital Khichuri Challenge 2022. Notably, he received a special award for his service during the early stages of the Covid-19 pandemic from the Youth Forum for Social Justice. Jimran actively engages in initiatives promoting climate, gender, and social justice, earning prestigious awards like the Champion of the Environment award by YPSA in 2022 and securing the 3rd position in the Climate Click competition by Prokas, British Council Bangladesh. He is also involved in the Common Purpose program, Bangladesh 100, supported by the British Council. Moreover, Jimran dedicates his time to working with the Bangladesh Tourism Board, volunteering for sustainable development to enhance climate and environmental practices within the tourism sector, ensuring a greener and more sustainable future for Bangladesh’s tourism industry.

Fahim Tajnowhat
Fahim Tajnowhat, a committed climate advocate from Cox’s Bazar’s sea-shore. Fahim, who is only 21 years old, is already making great progress in his fight against climate change and its effects on vulnerable people. Fahim has been worked with children in the Rohingya camp. Currently, he is working with children who are impacted by climate migration in Cox’s Bazar’s coastal districts. His efforts are directed on empowering the next generation of youths by giving them the skills and information necessary to overcome the obstacles presented by their situation. Through his work, Fahim hopes to assist students develop their sense of curiosity, creativity, and personal development so they may go on to create a better, more sustainable future.

Md. Mosharrof Hossain
Md Mosharaff Hossain graduated from the Fine Arts department at Dhaka University, Bangladesh. He is a well-known media personality who has worked in various media agencies, including print and TV. He has produced numerous fiction and nonfiction series for television, as well as documentary films at both national and international levels. Additionally, he is actively engaged in various social and cultural activities within the country. Currently, he serves as the head of programming at a private television network.

Murtoza Manzur is a Master’s student in Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Waterloo, building upon a foundation in Political Science and Economics gained during his undergraduate years at the University of Alberta. Actively engaged in student advocacy and non-profit organizations, Murtoza has showcased a profound commitment to social causes and community welfare. Prior to pursuing his master’s, he gained valuable insights into governance and policy implementation through his work in the public sector.
